The Limited Grand Opening Event {Event Photographer, Phoenix, AZ.}

I was invited to be apart of the Grand Opening event for The Limited here at the Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale, Arizona. In conjunction with the event they were promoting a local women's shelter for domestic abuse victims. A portion of the proceeds from the Grand Opening event would go to this local organization.

I love when businesses use their platform for good. To make a change, to impact others and make the world better. I was able to capture some great photos from the event.

{My Photography Bucket List}

Inspired by this post from Drewb, got me thinking this week about all the wonderful photographers there are out there. One of the challenges about being a photographer myself is that I can't easily shoot my own family. Lucky for me, there's a wide range of photographers who's work I greatly admire. I joke with my Husband that we're going to start taking family vacations based on the cities where photographers I admire live, just so they can shoot our family photos.

He thinks I am joking. But, little does he really know how serious I am. We're starting next year in 2012.

I got to cross one off my list this past February when we had our family photos and Ava's 1 year photos taken by Carrie Fay here in Arizona.

Here's a list {in no particular order} of photographers I want to cross off my bucket list:

Pink Coffee PhotoArt Jacksonville, FL

Drewb Photography Orange County, CA

Limeflower Studio Phoenix, AZ

Allison Waken Photography Phoenix, AZ

Andrea Swenson Photography Little Rock, AR

Laci Davis Photography Utah

So there you have it, the start of my photography bucket list! What about you, do you have any photographers out there that you're dying to shoot your family?!

Tell me about it in the comments section below.

iheartfaces weekly challenge: best face of summer 2011

This week's challenge is to pick your best faces of summer! I took a lot of pictures this summer, but a few stand out most to me. This week, I wanted to submit a picture of one of my favorites of summer. This one, from my session with the Papia family was a fave.

I have a little girl, and so it's always so fun seeing how boys are. Little Jimmy is full of wonder! He's curious, always moving, into sticks and other things all boy. I also loved seeing my friend in action as a mother to a young boy.

I feel like you can really see the wonder and excitment in his eyes from this picture. Jump on over to Iheartfaces this week and see the rest of the entries.

Jennie & Caleb Expecting {Northern Arizona Maternity Photographer}

Jennie and Caleb are one of the sweetest couples. They will be welcoming little Miss Ella at the end of October! It's so fun to see couples so excited for their baby to arrive, and excited for impending parenthood. These two couldn't be more excited!

I joined them last weekend in Northern Arizona for this shoot. They were troopers and walked through a forest with me for their session. My favorite sessions are those when families and couples feel so comfortable and are themselves. It truly comes through in their photographs.

Caleb and Jennie I'm so excited to meet your little girl, and look forward to sharing in the JOY of her arrival!

Enjoy your preview!

What to Wear to a Photoshoot: Fall 2011

Fall season is already upon us! I love Fall, it's my fave season. There's just something about boots, scarves, crisp weather and a good Pumpkin Spice Latte that makes me very happy. Unfortunately since moving to Arizona we don't get much of a Fall here in Phoenix. We do love driving up North for some cooler weather during these months.

For Fall 2011, I really wanted to put together some outfits that go beyond just the basic fall colors of organges and browns and mix in some deep purples and greens! Since I dress my family in affordable duds I really like to choose outfits that are in a reasonable price range for my clients.

I don't like to matchy match outfits, but coordinate instead.

What to Wear Fall 2011

Top, $23
Gotta Have Skirt, $35
Platform high heels, $89
Jewelry, $13
Old Navy Men's Cord Blazers, $50
Old Navy Men's Distressed Lowrise Bootcut Jeans, $25
Old Navy Mens Classic Slip-Ons, $25
Old Navy Men's Aged Leather Belts, $20
Gymboree.com - Girls Clothes, Kids Clothes, Children's Clothing and..., $45
Gymboree embroidered stripe sweater dress, $21
Gymboree.com - Kids Clothes, Boys Clothes, Children's Clothing and..., $27

iheartfaces weekly challenge: A Touch of Sun

When I saw that this week's Iheartfaces challenge was 'A Touch of Sun' I just knew I had to enter this photo of Ava. Taken on our recent trip to Iowa, we had a great evening of playing on the play ground with family.
